Liz Maugans is a Cleveland-based visual artist, curator, educator, and arts advocate with more than 30 years of experience supporting artists and building creative communities throughout Northeast Ohio. She is Arts and Design faculty and Haddad Arts Mentor at Cleveland State University and is the former Director of YARDS Projects and Curator of the Dalad Collection. Maugans is co-founder and former Executive Director of Zygote Press, founder of the Collective Arts Network (CAN Journal), and co-convener of the Artist Bridge Coalition. She has organized numerous exhibitions and community-based initiatives and helped launch The Quest, a grassroots arts collective and festival connecting artists and communities across Cleveland and Akron. Her studio and social practice explores language, memory, material culture, and connection. Maugans is represented by Hedge Gallery in Cleveland.
